Hi all,
i recently got a Losi MRC, used, with 4 wheel-steering (stock Losi radio for now).
I have a Spektrum DX3.0 and SR3000 receiver, so i figure there should be a way to wire it so that i can take advantage of the 3 channels to run the rear steering separate. why? i dont know yet, because i can :) (hopefully)

this is my first electric RC. I dont have a good grasp on how to wire it all. right now the battery connects to the ESC, the ESC to the motor and stock receiver, and somehow it works.

The SR3000 has to get power directly from the battery, correct? so, do i need a Y-adapter to run the battery to the esc on one end, and to the rx on the other? should i install a bec in between, or can i run everything safely (stock battery)?

i tried looking for a diagram / pics on here and google, couldnt find any...

Thanks in advance!

Pat

well f**k, sure enough AFTER i post this thread, i find everything i need to know...
isnt it always the way it works?... long story short, it sounds like i cant run independent rear steering with the 2-position 3rd channel on the dx3.0

f**k.

if anyone can deny that, i'll be happy to hear, lol... i saw this mini computer: Dual Steering Computer Dual Steering Computer Rock Crawler [PRCDSC] - $64.00 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce but i'm not exactly looking at spending $60 + shipping for that... might be time to look for a new remote :(

Thank you, at least someone cares, lol...
i'm somewhat broke now (new business owner...), so i might hold off on the independent steering for a bit...
i see though that you have a "no-brainer BEC" in store. Is that what i'd need to wire my Spektrum Rx with stock battery / esc? or can i just run a simple Y-battery connector? $4 vs $25 :)

as soon as funds come in, i'll get the 4ws module for sure!

Thanks again,
Pat

The battery connects to the ESC.
The ESC to RX connection not only lets the RX control the ESC, the ESC is also powering the RX.

The only need for an external BEC is to run a steering servo of 200+ inoz.8)

Thank you!
I never realized you could power the Rx through any port, not just the BAT one (although the stock is wired like that, it still didnt make sense to me, doh!!)
Now that i have power to the rx, it doesnt seem to "connect" with the Tx. It did work just fine before i pulled it out of the Savage, so we'll see...
