Blast from the past but I wanted to post up here for some like minded individuals. I remember there were plenty of people running 1nsane mods for the PC and even getting in some group crawling events. This game is currently in development and taking funding on kickstarter (funding has been achieved though). They've got some tech demo's out and people are already modding them for new vehicles. The physics are top notch, tire deformation, mud/dirt/asphalt/rock.

I've been watching this thread on rigs of rods where someone has cracked other vehicles. In particular, the uazT which is more like a lifted jeep. I couldn't get his mods to work, so I simply grabbed the uazT files and dropped them into the game's media folder and renamed it from UAZT to UAZ. Sometimes the car starts inside of the ground when 'rescued' but otherwise not to bad:
