Spektrum DX3R Pro with Dual ESC's on XR10?

I'm getting ready for a second XR10 build and was thinking about switching from the Novak M2 Dig system to a dual ESC set up like BRXL's or BR mini's. Thing is, i just purchased a new DX3R Pro and am not too sure about it's mixing capabilities.

I'm not going to get a 4PL, and am not too stoked about the cheap look of the new DX4R Pro.

Is the DX3R Pro the wrong radio for a dual ESC MOA job?

Do dual ESC's require an external dig unit or does a radio's mixing capabilities eliminate the need for that?

Just looking for some advice on this in layman's terms. The novak unit worked fine for me on XR #1, but i keep reading about Dual ESC's being a pretty sweet way to go with lots of precise control from driver input. I'd prefer to use my DX3R Pro if three channels are enough. The wiring diagrams i looked at on here seemed to show a three channel set up working ok, but the posts i read made it seem like four channel was the preferred option.

Thanks, Mark D.

Get a Want-A-Mix from Losikid for the win.

I use a W.A.M. on 2 rig using the DX3R. WOrks awesome.

I have been thinking of trying the DX4R.

Yep, been kicking my butt with that setup for years.

You do realize the DX4R is a DX3R (exactly the same) with different firmware, right...

Sell DX3R

Purchase DX4R

Profit "thumbsup"

The firmware, color, wheel, pistol grip cover, and antenna are all different from the DX3R Pro

I like how you can fold down the antenna down on the DX3R Pro and the gray color half way resembles brushed aluminum. It would be great if I could just upgrade the firmware

Thanks KBrog and Rowdy for the info on the Want-A-Mix. Sounds perfect for what i'm looking for

Dx4s and r both look 10x better than the 3 radios. Permanent antenna is a plus too. Good luck finding a wannamix. They arent sold on his site anymore. Get a dx4s for $180 and sell the 3.

Yep, the "wannamix" is the way to go. If you can find one, not sure if losikid makes them anymore. Good luck
