I don't RTR often, but the Enduro looked like one that was worth RTR'ing. I plan on getting the kit as well, but this will be my RTR progress for the Enduro.

So after noticing some shaft play in the stock servo, I decided to swap out to the DS3218 20kg servo along with a SSD RC 25T clamping metal servo horn. I'll eventually get a stronger servo, but the 20kg will do for now.

The stock Enduro bumper is huge one the Enduro. The stock bumper on a SCX10.2 Cherokee is pretty big as well on a SCX10.2.
Stock JCR Offroad bumper from the SCX10.2 Cherokee kit is much smaller when mounted on the Enduro, than the stock Enduro bumper. I'll stick with this for a while until the bumper I want eventually shows up for sale.

Time for the 11.83% overdrive gears (26T/54T) to go in. Stock is 5.7% (27T/53T) overdrive.

11.83% Gear set. 26T/54T gears.

You'll first need to disconnect the driveshafts from the transmission.

Next, you'll need to remove the screws from the skidplate. Pay Attention! The skid uses 4 screws. 2 long ones, and 2 short ones. The longer ones are used towards the middle of the skid plate. The shorter ones closer to the frame rails. When you put it back, make sure you put it back properly or else you'll be gouging your gears.

A look at the tiny skid

5 screws to remove to get to the gears.

The gears as they are inside. You'll be replacing the 2 gears closest to the spur gear. Leave the 3 gear row alone!

11.83% 26T small gear vs 5.7% 27T small gear

5.7% 53T big gear vs 11.83% 54T big gear

All the gears put back. (In hindsight, maybe I should've wiped off the old grease and re-greased all the gears)

Make sure your driveshafts are in phase when you put them back.

Great info here Soze!

I plan to pick my RTR up tonight after work from my LHS and I plan on doing the overdrive first thing so this info will help.

Thanks Soze!

Great info!!! you'll have ta let us know if there is a noticeable difference between the two!! at least I wanta know!! All this great info around here on the truck I might just have to pick one up!!! been lookin for a 1.9 anyway.

if this is how its gonna be, i'll just beat soze to the cage stuff lol
come on guys lets just enjoy the truck and not worry about who posts what?

B-mow im picking mine up from my LHS after work today too! and a "build thread" or "RTR improvement program" soon after ;)

I can put it in there as well? Thought you might have wanted to keep it limited to free upgrades that are "MacGyver" in nature.

You have good upgrade info so yeah, it would be great to compile it. I'll just link back to threads cuz peeps seem to want their own thread, I get it. I'll start a list once the threads get spread out in the section, add yours and others, whomever gets some good content going for all modifications and upgrades. Every once in awhile stuff shows up on FB too, at least pictures and comments - can capture those too.

Thanks!

PS - We're hitting CDM Friday, 9-noon or so, beat the crowds. My floating holiday. ;-)
