Should I cancel my order?

Axial has been saying they would be shipping in May since December. May is now over so I call my LHS and they are now telling me mid July. Half the summer will be over by then. I understand they had some issues, although I don't know what issues because they don't bother communicating. Factory issues do not excuse poor communication.

There is not a single update that I can find on their website or social media accounts and from what I understand (from lurking this forum) some people can't even get parts and have broken crawlers just sitting on a shelf.

Is it worth getting involved with a company that seems so uncaring about its customers? Is this the quality I should expect from the product and customer service in the future? What if my kit is missing a part or something is broken? Should I expect a 6 month delay every time I need something from Axial?

Should I consider a refund and look into a different model/company due to this ongoing piss poor experience or is it only new customers that get the shaft?

Traxxas just released what is promising to be the rig of the year...

Those are all very valid questions. Since there is no official statement from them, there's unfortunately no advice to give to you. If you read the threads, you know the deal.

If you want one that bad, then wait. Or search online, there's a few for sale out there so I'm told. Or cancel and look into the HPI and Traxxas offerings, which both sound like they'll be out shortly - and killer to boot. Or MST, RC$WD, Gmade...plenty of rigs on the market to choose from.

If you were talking about the Vaterra Ascender yea I would be concerned, but if you are talking Axial the aftermarket support alone will still be enough to keep it running indefinitely (if not better than the factory parts of course).

On the head. Only one axial... if that's what you want , build it. I built
A wraith, still factory cage and skid, HD axial gears, all other manfacturers parts complete the build.

Yes there are still some kits out there, and rtr, some axial parts are in now, email showed Yeti xl as one... trickling in , but really go look at the Traxxas TRX, lotta rig rtr

Axial has been around a long time. They're not going anywhere. I suspect you'll be able to get one sooner than July.

Hmmm, my local hobby shop said they're expecting an order to be shipped to them June 2nd and arriving next week. I hope they are right. I've been waiting for my SCX10ii kit.

I understand your concern the availability is basically nothing right now. As far as the quality of the scx10 2, it really is a great kit. I just finished putting my kit together and I just have to deal with finishing the body. I seriously lucked out and found one when I was out of town for work. It would definitely drive me nuts if I was still looking for one. I guess the biggest thing is if your are looking for a kit or rtr. Only axial, mst, rc4wd, or gmade have kits. If you look on tower hobbies website the availability dates are what I go by for kits on backorder. From what I saw the traxxas crawler availability date has moved also. Unless you can find one and actually touch it, I'm not sure when the axial trucks will be available again. I wouldnt count on the estimated availability dates as they have changed so many times.

For neraly double the price of a scx10 2 rtr....
Why would you need in a trail truck unlocked differential

Scale rigs are lame for that reason alone I would cancel my order. Build a MOA crawler or a 2.2s crawler...

If I were in your shoes, I would be seriously eyeing the trx4. My mom just bought one. I preordered it for her. I will have some good feedback in a few days. Or you could put together a toyzuki v2.

Who says that?:lmao:

The same guy who told me you were an asshole, but personally, I agree with him. I will be surprised if a more interesting rig appears this year. If one does come down the road this calendar year my money is on Vaterra stepping up.
