Started building another Pajero. Still waiting on some of my upgrade parts, bearings, Hot Racing steering to show up. While waiting, modded the front arms, C’s and removed the front block to still except the stock front bumper mount. Added a HPI Hellfire bumper skid to tie it all together.

Still waiting on parts. Decide to mod the rear for more suspension travel. Added SCX10ii rear shock mounts, made pass through holes for the 100mm shocks, and added a link to tie them together. It is rigid and should do the trick.

HPI Hellfire skid added, part number 85519. It does come with a bumper and two light buckets. You have to drill out the stock holes a bit to fit the stock CC01 skid plate holes and notch the sides so the arms can travel. I have used this on all of my CC01s and works great.

I love that you use the hellfire bumper/skid. I built this 12 years ago.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with this build.

Thanks man! I love this skid and pretty much have it in on 4 of the six CC01’s I have.

Updates: I relocated the lower link mounts on the chassis to the sides and four linked it. Shocks are perfect length and no binding at all. Now if my darn bearings would show up I could move along on this build.

Won't the plastic rear shock tower flex? I suggest it would be better to use aluminum in that part.

With the metal link tieing the two together, they are rock solid. Even on the SCX10II, they don’t use supports.

HR steering mounted. Added 4mm spacers under the skid to gain a little clearance and add more travel. Will be adding 6mm body lift front and rear to help tires clear.

Excuse me, is the bottom plate need to cut? Can you give a picture a reference?

The holes for the bumper from the Hellfire need to be drilled out to mate with the holes on the chassis. You also need to remove some of the sides in order for the arms to move freely.

The stock skid plate then goes directly over the top of the bumper from the Hellfire. You do need to use slightly longer screws. I hope this helps.

Body is all primed and ready to go. Also removed all the chrome from the front and rear bumpers. Hopefully hobby stores will open soon so I can get the right colors to finish it appropriately.
