SCX10 ii Body Choices

Hello,

Recently picked up an SCX10 ii kit from my LHS. I'm still in the process of building it, but what are some potential body choices (other than the ones from Proline)? I'm looking for a polycarbonate body with some hard plastic details (kind of like a TRX-4 body). I have two TRX-4s (a blue and white Bronco and a gray Defender), and would like the SCX10 ii to have around the same scaleness level so they look uniform (if you get what I mean). I am currently considering the RC4WD 2001 Tacoma (how does it fit in terms of width? I don't want it to be too narrow and look like an Arctic Truck), Gen 8 I Scout ii body (how well does it fit aside from the wheelbase?) Thanks in advance! :)

The rc4wd Tacoma body is super narrow, 7" wide iirc.

Check out Axial's line of bodies, the honcho cab is fairly wide and Tacoma ish. but it doesn't have the hard plastic accesories...

As far as other bodies fitting, its not difficult to adjust wheelbase to match.

I believe Knight Customs offers 3D printed grills to class up the Honcho body.
They also have a ton for the Pro-Line metric body.
I put a 3D printed grill on my Axial FC and it looks good but the body is so thin behind the can that it had major cracks after the first run.

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I'll most likely go to my LHS with the chassis to test fit the bodies!

Still haven't decided on a body yet, but I think TRX-4 bodies might fit. The front tower holes match up perfectly, and only new rear holes are needed...

It also looks like the VS4-10 bodies may fit as well, but I'm not sure how the body holes line up. Does anyone know how well the Vanquish body fits on the 10 ii?

what do you mean by body holes why would anyone ruin a perfictly goodbody by putting holes in it

The TRX-4 and VS4-10 bodies come with pre-drilled holes for the body mounts. I don't like drilling extra holes either, which is why I'm asking if anyone knew if the holes on the body line up with the body mounts on the chassis.

If they line up close enough, I can heat up the body mount post and bend it to where it needs to be.

I think I'm going with a Vanquish VS4-10 body. I saw someone on YouTube was able to fit it on the Enduro without any modifications (other than straight rear body mounts, which are easy enough to get), and the SCX10 ii and Enduro are pretty similar, so I'll give it a shot.

Here's the video I was referring to if anyone's interested:

Here it is on the 10ii:
The stock front bumper makes the body sit too high and the kit didn't come with any other bumpers and sliders, so I ordered the Vanquish Pro Tube Bumpers, and plastic Axial sliders (still haven't come yet). Here is the picture of the truck without any bumpers or sliders:

If anyone is curious how I fitted it, I had to relocate the battery to the rear (using a shorter battery pack also works) so that the body sits low enough (I may also have to readjust the body posts to fit the sliders and bumpers when they arrive):

I also enlarged the existing body holes on the body, and also bent the front body posts towards the front a little bit so it fits the stock (straight) body posts. Overall, not a lot of modification is needed. I think it might be an even more direct fit with the VS4-10 body mounts but I am not sure.

I had the trx4 bronco body on my vs4 chassis, basically the same as the 10 ii. On the rear body post, i made some standoffs to set the rear body post back to line up with the exsisting holes in the bronco body.

I too purchased an SCX10ii Raw Builder's Kit recently and I purchased the Axial AXIC4038 AX04038 Jeep Wrangler Race Body.40, Clear: AXIC4038.

I'm new to crawlers but not to RC. New to this forum also; so sorry if I posted this question incorrectly or in the wrong spot.

I have a question for anyone who has used this body. The body kit includes a lexan piece shown in the attached pictures. What is this piece (trimmed into two pieces I assume) used for?

Rtus, those are headlight buckets, in case you decide you want to mount lights.
