Well I'm sure we've all had to sell our shelf queen or holy grail to pay for unexpected emergencies. My biggest regret was letting my rerelease sand scorcher go with all the time I spent on it.

Planned running gear I currently have 5645mg or 645mg, Brxl, or sidewinder sv3, and a 3800kv 1410 castle, or Novak 55t. Plan on using small 3s packs 1500-1850mah range since all my 2s packs won't fit in the plastic electronics box of the scorcher.

Now the XV-01 pro will definitely out handle and just flat out embarrass an SRB but not in the scale department. I plan on this rig as a high speed true desert baja buggy which I understand is different in some ways to rallying, so i wasn't sure where to post this thread.

I've seen og rc10 gold pan conversions to run a sand scorcher body but should I just get the kit and enjoy the build all over again?

I already have a DF-03ra actually 2 at one point...and also a tb-03r I converted to rally.

I'm just worried like all tamiya rereleases parts will be hard to find later versus the XV as their new platform.

Does anyone know of another 2wd chassis I could easily fix up a sand scorcher suspension, layout to? Preferably something that most hobby shops either regularly stock...by that I mean traxxas, hpi, rpm, the usual suspects.

Oh and here she was in all her glory

2 totally different cars man. you sound very partial to that sand scorcher. It to me sounds like it would make you the happiest.

if you are interested in the gold pan RC10, i understand that a re-release of it is coming out very shortly, sometime this August i believe. It will probably be a little cheaper than the Scorcher too.

True the AE crew wants to go to war with re-releases seems like Tamiya was thee culprit that started this! The scorcher I would immediately need to upgrade to a full aluminum after market chassis that's a direct bolt on instead of Tamiya's flimsy "reinforced" chassis lol. Then eventually a ball differential followed by a DF-03 modded slipper clutch and probably the gearing swap to 32p.

By the time I have the scorcher built up the way I want it's gonna run a good $600 even though I have the electronics already. The XV on the other hand I have plenty of rally bodies or TT-01 bodies I can slap on there since they and the same wheelbase and body post mounts!

What I'm worried abt is how long those pulleys and belt are going to last.

Well the belts and pulleys, spurs and such other gears should last a long long while, theres many on here who have lots of time on their XV01 and al that stuff hasnt really gone.. PS i just finished building my XV01 today, the thing is sweet!
