Hey guys I need some help. I have a exceed Maidstone 8 and have did the following mods. Changed out the transmitter and receiver to a futaba 4pls, changed the esc to a 80 amp hobbywing quicrun, changed motors to axial 55t, and put a rc4wd dig 2 unit on it. He issue im having is with the drag brake and dig. When i run the front tires up the wall and release the trigger the truck will roll back slowly. I have 100% drag brake set in esc. Also when i activate the dig the tires dont lock up totally. I would like to get more drag brake and dig if possible. If i removed the dig unit and went dual esc would that give me what im looking for? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dual esc wont fix the drag not being strong enough I think, if you can gear down and get faster motors that would be my bet. I run moa on bully axles and I was able to use a 9t spur, with 35t motors I am pretty happy with its 64:1 reduction, no idea what the maxstone has for reduction though(just looked it up, well based off the gears and a 15t pinion you get 38.5:1(guessing on the stock pinion being 15), with a 9t pinion you get 64:1, so if it fits and to motor slides far enough in ,
so...
1) get the 9t pinion
2) faster motors
3) and dual esc's
4) kick butt

Not sure what the spur is but the pinion is a 12 tooth I have 2 10 tooth coming also I have to 27 turn motors that I had in it before but it didn't have the torque to turn the wheels

I assume you set the drag beake to 100% in the esc, also make sure its activating on both axles, it will not activate if the throttle is not in the dead band, which shouldn't be a problem because I don't think the esc will finish activating if the throttle is not in the dead band. Mostly I would say wait to install those pinions before changing anything else.

I think stronger magnets will give you better drag brake, I have never had a drag brake not hold so I haven't looked into which motors have the best drag brake, but I am pretty sure the super pricey HH magnums have a good drag brake.

I know there are posts you can search for here that have discussed what motors to get for a better drag brake.
