I have seen and heard of people braking the stub axle on the 12mm conversion kit for the re-release bruiser. RC4WD makes some really nice stuff..
I was going through my spare parts and found a set of Tamiya TG10 stub axles and they fit perfect. They should be a lot stronger then the RC4WD stub axles and you don't have to but another kit to fix the broken part.
Part # TAM50808 TG10 stub axles
Part # 1985 fiber wheel washer
I picked up a couple sets when I was building my tlt's back in the day..
When I was installing the stub axle. I used a traxxas 5x8 fiber wheel washer between the stub and the 5x8 bearing. That reduced the wheel wobble and made it a little tighter.. There is also no binding as the wheels are turning left to right and going forward or reverse. Here are some pics of the stub axles and the TG10 stub axles installed on the bruiser with the 12mm aluminum hub.
