A while back i purchased a Tamiya Martini Porsche 911 body kit and put it away for a future build. I decided to finally start the build a few days before Christmas. The donor parts came from a crashed carbon chassis mustang DS car i had laying around.

I started with a "B" stamped Emerald Green anodized chassis, nose plate and nose tubes. I scored this anodized beauty on ebay from Don Martin a while back and had been saving it for a future build.

Blue GPM suspension arms & Carbon Fiber Shock Tower

Front Stabilizer

NTC3 Rear 12mm Hexes

Front end suspension attached to nose plate

Nose plate attached to the chassis

The rear

MIP CVD's will be used

The intended wheels were the HPI Porsche set but they proved to small for this project. They were made for a different line. I ended up getting a set by Tamiya in red. On both sets i painted the inner wheel black

See the difference?

oh but they looked so good...

but they were too small

The Tamiya body is mounted, prepped and ready for paint....

Tight Lines...thats how i roll

Decals On...

Of course i managed to place the eight upside down  ....it was too late to remove

Front end bumper and mounts. Body mount were positioned different than stock to accomadate the body

Powered by Castle Creations Sidewainder 3 brushless non sensored setup. 4 pole

The front end is a joy to look at..reminds me of a dragon fly

transmission end cups polished

The Rear is end is solid and mean

Side View mirrors on...

Good looking build. What did you use for a transmission? When I had my RC10B3 and put a brushless 7500 Castle motor in it a melted the tranny gears twice. It was great pulled wheelies on command.

Thanks Man!!!

I use the stock stealth transmission and im old school. i run a Nimh 7.2 stick pack. i dont run lipos so i dont have issues with stripping or melting gears:mrgreen:

I almost chopped on of those chassis up to make a 4wd buggy... now im not. nice b stamp!

Going to have to hit you up for a parts list to convert mine to 12mm hex front and back. Are the alloy bits fron the ebay seller Dhawk

The front end axle and c-hub are from the associated sc10. they come with a 12mm hex.

For the rear you can use the NTC3 hex. they have different widths.

The aluminum Arms are GPM products.

Awesome build. One of those "simple yet elegant" cars I'd love to attempt. With the motor hanging off the back end I'm guessing it drives like the real thing?

Thanks! Should you attempt a DS build. i must warn you...its addicting.
You got that right, its a lovely thing to hit brakes and swing that rear engine around.

I just gotta find some time away from working on my race vehicles to piece it together.

I hear you. Finding the time is hard...back in the day(26 years ago) i could build a kit in a day....Now i build a little each day and it can take me weeks. If working with a discontinued kit then you factor in the time it takes to find parts:shock:.
