Radio ideas: surface radio + full mixing of front/rear throttle

Hey guys I'm looking for radio ideas. Im looking to get a MOA setup (either Bully ARTR or a custom setup with bully 2 comp axles) and I can't seem to figure out how I want to control it.

For reference, I'm relatively new. I have a moderately-modded Nightcrawler I've been running for the last year. I don't plan to compete but want a nice MOA crawler.

There's two things I'd like to have, but they seem to conflict with each other, though I admit, my search has not been exhaustive yet

1) I'd like to be able to have quasi-independent control of both axles. In other words, I'd like to be able to mix my throttle from 100% front to 100% rear on the fly. I'm not sure if that means dual ESCs or a single ESC with a DIG unit, but ultimately I don't care as long as the control is the same
2) I'd like to use a surface radio (no dual sticks please). Its seems to me, since the left thumb is just sitting there, it could be busy blending my throttle while I'm running.
3) Preferably no modding. I've got a 2yo and 4yo, I want my spare time to be driving, not fabricating :)
4) Got a better control scheme?

I noticed that the spectrum DX4S has a thumb wheel, but the manual seems to suggest it is not assignable.

So, the question is, can I get what I want with a surface radio? and what combination of products would you suggest? Thanks everyone

*edit* to follow up, once I figure this out, I still need to figure out motors/ESC(s)/servo, so If you've got opinions there, feel free to share

Dual ESC's and an Airtronics MT-4 is all you need. Setup is simple and the the thumb lever will give you full proportional.

Pretty sure the futaba 4pls is capable of doing that too. I know there's a little dial on it that assignable but I can't speak from experience since I don't need that feature at this time.

I had a dx4r that I did all of the mixing with a thumb switch on the side (like where a safety would be) that is much easier to use than that dial way around the back. Dx4r has MOA as a preset and is super easy!
Dual esc is the way to go.
The modded gt3c is also good, but takes some work.

For comp crawling, or just wanting the best, the Futaba 4pk (or the newest models i cannot recall their exact name) is the hands down best radio. Harley has step by step videos on programming them. Nothing out there comes even remotely, nice pun, close. Spend the money once and go Futaba. You will not regret it.
