Just bought an XR with 2 Sidewinders. This will be my first rig with dual ESC's.
I will need a radio and receiver. What is an adequate radio for dual ESC? "mixing" is what I need it to do?
I currently have a Spektrum DX5C and several cars with Spektrum receivers. It would be nice to stay with Spektrum.
I need at least a 3 channel receiver? 4?
any help is appreciated.

The dx5r or dx5 pro can do it. I couldent figure it out on the dx5c and I think the rugged is to similar to the C for it to work on that.

I will say setting it up is not intuitive. Search my posts pretty sure I have a post on it that I did for my bomber.

Looks like I'll go with a DX5 Pro. I just need an SR215 receiver, yes? Servo and 2 ESC's to plug? Or do I need specific AUX channels?

If you use the sr215 there are 2 channels so it can work 2 esc's. If you also want to steer I would suggest getting at least the sr315. That 1 ch for each esc and 1ch for steering.

You can actually run one brushed esc for both front and rear motors, like the hobbywing 880. But the front and rear will alwayse try to drive the same speed.

I say try because they just receive the same power. If the rear gets bound up it won't spin as fast and vice versa. This can be done with a dx5c.

The dx5 pro allows you to have front and rear dig as well as overdriving the front or rear.

Thanks. I used to have an XR10 with 1 FXR and a dig unit.

Ordering the DX5 Pro tomorrow and I'll go with a 315 receiver. .....unless I get details to go otherwise.
I appreciate the Futaba comments but I already have 4 other cars working off Spektrum.
