A Very Special Thanks to Sean Barrett for this awesome How-To Article:

This is a little tutorial on how to cut-n-shut 1.9 tires to fit on 1.55 wheels you will need Pro-Line 1.9" tires of your choice and 1.55" Wheels of your choice.Pro-Line 1.9" TSL SX Super Swampers #1163-14 were used in this setup

Then you will need a sharp pair of scissors to cut the tires and some fast set thin ca glue and some rubberized ca tire glue.

Take the tire in your hand and find blank spots on the side of the tire to make sure your not cutting into the lettering.

Hold the scissors perpendicular to the bead of the tire and cut next to one of the lugs on the tread of the tire. Cut as straight as possible, or follow tread pattern for interlocking fit.

Place tire on the wheel as you would to mount it and check to see that the cut location is a proper fit, there should be a slight gap, this will ensure a nice tight fit after gluing.

Once you are happy with the cut, its time to glue'em up. you will want to tack the tire back together with the quick set CA glue, such as Pro-Line Tire Glue. Once dry, you will want to add another layer of rubberized glue along the seam inside the tire.

Once dry, mount normally. Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of Pro-Line 1.55" Tires!

Great writeup. It's a shame that pro-line can't manage to make tires in a bead radius that fits correctly the vast majority of RC4WD, Locked up, Mayhem, TSS, Gearhead, and Vanquish wheels etc.

Pro-line tires no matter how cool they are will always fit like a worn out pair of socks straight out of the bag.

My tsl xl swampers fit better than my RB2'S And hold the bead better on ssd wheels.

I posted this in another thread but it fits here perfectly too so I'll repost it for your benefit. "thumbsup"

I see so many people whining about proline beads being difficult or impossible to mount and I laugh at all of them. Can they be slightly difficult to mount on some wheels? Sure. They can be a bear to mount on axial ifd's for sure. But once mounted they do NOT come loose on accident which is more than I can say for pit bulls or ironically axial tires.

Maybe I'm in a minority to think that proline beads are superior.

I know this is an old thread but it is what come up in my search. Why doesn't Proline just make some 1.55 Swamper TSL/SX's in a standard and xl height. I am getting ready to build (read: try to build) a 1.55 scaler that will be easier to carry in my truck as I drive all over the country for work.
I started building a 1.9 then wanted to go smaller. So sold the 1.9. I just don't see why Proline doesn't make any 1.55 tires. If anyone here knows someone at Proline please put a bug in their ear.
Sorry for the rant.

Wayne

I would for sure buy some 1.55 proline tires. 1.9 size wheels just don't look right on a Tf2, Imo.
