I wanted to post here rather than in the electronics section.. figured maybe more views here idk.

Car began acting erratically ( both throttle and steering). Replaced tx batteries, re-bound rx/ tx, replaced AE-6 esc/ rx with a new one, used two different fully charged lipos, and ultimately opened up the radio to take a look around. Solder connections all look good.

So... Does this sound like the transmitter is the culprit? And if you have the scx24... have you had any issues with the AX-4 radio? I've seen that these seem to be out of stock everywhere which got me to wondering if maybe others are having tx issues or that maybe there's a known issue that slowed down the manufacturer on production.

Any thoughts or experiences with this radio much appreciated. Thanks.

My three work good. No issues.
Antenna location near power wires?
Maybe something in your home messing with signal? Try somewhere to crawl in a different location?

I put a micro crawler programmable esc In with a flysky programmable TX. Love it...

Not near any interference that I'm aware of... same location and conditions as when this rig was running normally. Stock servo/ no lights or accessories... don't even have the oem lights connected.

For the time being I'm using the esc/ rx out of a 1/18 gelande II. Absolutely hate the mickey mouse transmitter.

Thanks for the replies..

Try using the stock electronics, but unplug the steering servo and see how the throttle is, sometimes dead/dying servos will cause havoc.

Yep both my SCX24 servo's went bad and one went haywire and made the servo and throttle glitch out.
Try what Nate recommends about disconnecting the servo, I though my ESC was the culprit until I unplugged the servo.

What about using a glitch buster.
I have some at home I may end up using on my truck, not sure if it’s really needed. I do have BeC control on my hobbywing esc but may add this in.
Again not sure if I really even need it but I have some hanging around.

I will absolutely try that. IIRC I left the servo connected when I was trying to determine if the servo or motor were possible culprits. So maybe that's it. Will update later. If that's what it is then I'll read thru the micro section to see what ppl recommend as far as steering servos on this rig. I'm sure it's been discussed lol. Thanks guys.

Thanks so much. I was looking on amain and saw a digital version but wasn't sure if they were offered in analog also.

ma is analog Md is digital
Either will work
Some say like analog better and some say digi.
I only tried DiGi and so far it works great.
Others here have posted they use the analog and like it.
Either way for 10.00 it’s a good upgrade

Also I heard the Ma has all metal gears where the md says all metal but there is one hidden plastic gear.
I didn’t open my md up to verify but could care less, it works, it was cheap and I see no difference for these small little slow trucks
For racing I may be concerned

Bryan, Thanks greatly for the additional information. I agree that in these little lightweights that a plastic gear probably shouldn't be a deal breaker... especially if running a servo saver. I'm going to get one ordered and go from there. I was reading that you need two longer screws and maybe a couple spacers if installing this servo in the oem mount. Hopefully I can find some screws this small in my parts bins lol.

Just confirmed as suggested by Nate and Humboldt... servo was the issue. Went ahead and hooked up a BlueBird 373MG... using the original tx and rx/ esc.. worked without any issues. I've got an ES08MA on the way but for now, I'm going to use this Bluebird... 25 spline, full size shaft so it will accept any reg size horn, digital, 28oz/ .11 sec at 6v.

Thanks again everybody for their help and suggestions. Very much appreciated.

Glad you got it figured out and running again! Some of those micro servos are kinda large and barely fit, which also creates a less than scale overall appearance imo. Happy Friday! :)

Yep... I ran into that last night. Thought I could make the Blue Bird work but it's a little too tall plus the fact that I'd have to modify the horn/ linkage too much for it to be feasible. No problem though I've got the ES08MA on the way.

I have burnt out the savox on my 1/18 so I decided against it for my 1/24 jlu
No point in spending 30$ when I can get the Emax for 1/3 cost and burn that out too.
