If I wanted to put straight axles on a Phoenix VS4-10 portal kit would I have to change any of the transmission gears for proper ratio?

portal vs straight

No. Internally the transmissions are the same. The spur gear on the portal trucks are 52t (except the Carbon) but the straight axle is 56t. I think the motor pinion may be different as well.
Thanks for the info. I got a portal kit coming but will not be using the axles, I'll be swapping to straight axles.
