Hey I recently finished my Gen 8 pack. For the steering servo I used a spare (unused) 1/8 buggy servo (Hobao 18kg). It's only rotating about 60% of it's maximum radius though resulting in a rather poor turning radius. My radio is a Hitec digital and I have the EPA maxed out in both directions (125%). Just wonder if a long servo arm might help or is it just the servo itself? It can certainly rotate a lot further than what the radio is telling it to.
