While on the Vanquish web site looking in the manual section I noticed the Phoenix straight axle kit is in the discontinued section but show out of stock under the vs4-10 section where you can purchase the kit. Anyone know if it is truly discontinued?
Thanks

The prevalent trend in the industry is for the kits to be replaced with RTR's sadly.

IMO there will always been room in the market for a well made kit from a reputable brand with high standards,.

Vanquish has released two new kits within the past few weeks. The VRD Builders kit and VS410 Builders kit. Both of those are straight axle kits....With that in mind, is the Phoenix straight axle kit necessary? They have two straight axle kits and two straight axle RTRs that are pretty similar.

Phoenix straight axle kit necessary?
I guess it depends. The builders kit is $300. Phoenix kit is $380 and I wanted it for a few diff reasons including the clear body which is $150 alone. So now it cost $450 vs $380 wtf lol. Oh and Phoenix comes with Twin trans so now if you wanna upgrade the builders kit there is additional $.

Anywho just curious if anyone knows if it really is dis. or just simply out of stock.

I think on one of the past few the livestreams they said they will be back in stock. If you like that body, finding one for sale for cheap should be pretty easy. I've got one in a bin and every time I go to an RC swap meet, there are several for sale for significantly less than $150.

On this past livestream they said the straight axle Phoenix kit is indeed discontinued. The straight axle builder's kit is basically taking its place.

Given this information, I'll share my Vanquish Coupons thread/post here.

Harley AKA Harley Designs AKA Josh mentioned on the Vanquish livestream that he is going to post weekly coupons for the thing he is working on that week.

09/03/2024 - This week it is the VS4-10 Builder's Kit - Straight Axle. The coupon is TUESDAYBUILDOFF and it takes the kit from $299.99 down to $255.00. That's $44.99 off or roughly 15% off. Definitely a steal and I would be buying one if I didn't just buy a bunch of other kits...

I took advantage of Amain Hobbies Labor Day coupon and ended ordering a phoenix portal kit, with the discount the kit was $320. Also ordered some goodies for the kit. I never wanted and still do not want portals so I'll need to sell those to buy straight axles so if anyone needs a new set of portals I got a pair.

Good deal! I got some black aluminum F9 axle housings from the VS4-10 Pro kit if you're interested. I switched those out for HD44 axles.
