NiMH battery issue

I have a few battery packs that have been in storage since returning from Iraq in 2011, first thing I did was plug them up to my charger (Venom Pro-Charger green). I charged all of them with my normal 3A charge and noticed it only applied 365mah and 212mah to 2 of my 3000mah batteries. One of which I put in my Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL and I'm guessing from being stored so long needed to be binded with controller and setup before use, after which I took it outside and after less than 5 mins it started to act as if the battery was dying and quite rapidly. I would attempt another battery but none of my other packs will fit on this model and all of my LiPo batteries were swollen so I threw them away. Since I charged and ran the battery twice I started reading about battery packs, conditioning and such and decided to not throw it away yet but try cycling it with my charger to possibly bring it back to life. I set my charger to 1.0A, and 5 cycles. I am on the 3rd cycle and showing 565mah charge applied .

Am I doing something wrong? Is my battery just dead and never coming back? Is there other ways of testing or charging it?

Ideal cycling is to:
1. Discharge at 0.2C (0.6A in your case) until you reach 1.0V/cell.
2. Wait for an hour.
3. Charge at 0.1C (0.3A) for 15 hours. (No delta cutoff, just constant current.)
4. Wait for an hour.
5. Repeat steps 1. through 3.
