Hello Big Bad Crawler Land,

I'm a newb's newb....sort of. I bought a Deadbolt about six weeks ago and am slowly making improvements and customizations to the rig as I learn bits and pieces here and there, largely from this forum. One item that I'm extremely interested in is mounting a tire/wheel onto the sloping back roll cage of the vehicle. There doesn't appear to be any mods out there for this (unless I'm not looking in the right places) and my fabrication experience is less than zero. Any suggestions, pointers, or hints would massively appreciated. I would say putting the wheel on the cage is probably what I want to change most about my Deadbolt, from a cosmetic point of view.
Many thank!

Here are some photos of the spare tire mount I made. I used some mounts left over from the Axial universal light bar kit, an Axial 106mm aluminum threaded tube, an Axial rod end, miscellaneous screws, the Axial plastic spare tire wing-nut thingy, and some thin plastic tubing (to cover the aluminum link so it would match the cage).

Wow, very nice! I think I will give this a try. Part of my problem is that I have no imagination for these kinds of things. Thanks a million!

Zip ties were about the only option I could come up with too, but Mr. Btoungette's solution is very elegant. I would have been just fine with zip ties though.
