Hello everyone. I am green to the scene. I am very interested in crawling and am taking the jump soon. Not sure if I am going the clod or Axial route yet. I'm trying to get rid of a heli or truggy first so the lady friend doesn't fly off the handle. I might pick up a used one to get the ball rolling and go from there so keep your eyes peeled. I am in Fergus Falls so it will be a trek but I could make a few events once I am up and running.

I would highly recommend starting with the Axial over a clod if you have a tighter budget. To build a competitive clod you will be spending $200 on servos alone, plus another 100+ on tires and rims, two motors rather then one, and you will be repairing it more often then you would a smaller rig.

Hope to see you out there this year :)

I hear ya. I have been hawking the ckrc site. Will probably get one with stage 2, knuckles, and split battery. Are the drive shafts as weak as people say?

Well, that didn't work
I was going to move these posts to the "Any crawlers in Mn thread", and add you to the roll call list, and it made a new Any crawlers in Mn thread.
Edit: I changed the title to a new MRCRC member introduction thread.

New crawler with a Scorpion.

I thought I'd post this in here too. I was in a monster truck club a while back when they got to run in the Metrodome for the first time. Alot of the people in that club were into crawlers so I thought some of you guys may be in here.

I'm new to crawlers. A friend of mine recommended I get an Axial Scorpion so we could go mess around with them outside, so I went and bought one.

Now I built a custom Clod back before this kinda thing was really popular. I was so happy to see a kit designed for something like this already so I didn't have to tear apart a kit and modify it to work.

Anyways, here are some pics of my truck. It's super cold up here in Minnesota so I won't take it out much more until it warms up again.

where you in MMTR, RC MONSTER CREW ,OR TEAM EXTREME? I WAS IN ALL 3 SO do i know you? what is your name ?

I think it was MMTR before it was officially MMTR. I mean this was just before people started forming groups around this. We went to the Metrodome for the first time, I had the blue Bug body on my Clod.

And my name is Chad.
