My first lipo battery & charger. Are the ones listed below a good choice ?
There for an Axial SCX10 II with a 35 Turn brushed motor & a brushed Axial ESC

Duratrax Onyx LiPo 2S 7.4V 5000mAh 25C
Duratrax Li-24 2S-4S AC Balance Charger

I'm not a duratrax fan. Their stuff is ok, not spectacular.
I will always say SPC or SMC for lipo batteries, I love my hitech charger.
I just bought a new charger because I went cheap first, it worked but slowly.

I actually have 2 of those lipos and they work well for a year now

HANG UP AND DRIVE !

If you are trying to save some money on a Lipo charger, I'd highly recommend the Thunder AC6.

Thunder AC Ac/DC LiPo Charger/Balancer

I've had a couple for a few years and they work great, and are simple to use.

As for batteries, pick what you want, but hardcases are usually huge and hard to fit under a body unless you are using a huge battery plate. Soft batteries are just fine, and pretty much all I've used. I usually try and run an 1800-2500Mah with 25-45C if I can find them cheap enough...

Also DEFNINITELY get a LiPo charging bag, well worth the $10 JUST IN CASE something happens. I actually charge my Lipo's in a metal ammo case just because I leave them in my garage and forget about them sometimes.

I have 3 Sky RC iMAX B6 Mini chargers. They work very well for me. The only thing with the chargers is the fact you will need a 12v DC power supply.

I have the iMAX B6AC charger. Great charger and easy to use.
If you don't get the mini it doesn't need a separate supply. Plugs straight into the wall and you can still use 12v to power it with a dc power supply or right to a battery with the included battery clamps.

I also need a battery and charger recommendation. I'm going to be running 3s on my SCX10-II. I prefer longer run time over lighter weight. Hard pack or soft pack? I know soft packs are more easily damaged, but have the benefit of being easier to see there is something wrong with them (ballooning). I guess I need to know what brands to look at. And what makes a good charger? I don't want to break the bank here but I'm not interested in something super cheap either.

they are both good, but I run the Turing lipos as they are plenty good for the scale world and at $20.00 they can't be beat.
