So built a Wendigo recently and am having great fun with it.

Motor choice I made was the new HW AXE R2 since it is easily available in the UK and features both Crawling (Forward/Reverse) and Bashing (Forward/Brake/Reverse) modes.

In a lot of ways it's pretty good but Lack of programibility in Bashing mode means it doesn't seem ideal to me for non-crawling. See here for details:

So, my question is what other motor/ESC options might work better.

Appreciate I'm going to get a lot of Castle/Mamba X advise but you just can't easily get this in the UK these days.

Keen tio stay sensored to get reduced cogging but not sure on my options there. How about the HW XR8? Any other thoughts?

Ta.

In my Wendigo. I am currently using the QUICRUN 10BL120 sensored Brushless ESC with a no name 3800kv sensored brushless motor I picked up from Amazon. The ESC has a descent amount of programmability with several settings that benefit both crawlers and bashers. I will eventually get a better motor but I am pretty happy with the ESC and see no reason to replace it.
