G6 at Banning State Park in Sandstone.
Map Link: [click here]
Date: Sunday July 30th
Start time: 11:00AM
End time: ~3:00 PM (but could be sooner)
Sandstone is a great location with a good mix of rock and dirt terrain. It is along side a river, which has been known to flood. However I have checked a website that the USGS uses to track water levels just south of where we crawl, and it is currently below levels that we've safely crawled before! (we should be good!)
The intent of a G6 is to be like a real 1/1 trail run. Recover with winches or with your buddies truck helping. Hands of God should be minimized (except of course if safety is a concern). Depending on turnout, we may run timed laps as teams of 2.
Bring your rigs and a bunch of batteries. As with most of our scaler events we will be hiking away from the parking area. At Banning we may end up back there once or twice during the event. But it is still suggested to bring a small backpacks for food, water, basic tools, and a few parts. Also, be sure to bring bug spray just in case.
Hope to see you all there!
