MNRCRC 2017 Comp #8 and FINALS

Date: Oct 1st

Location: Taylors Falls, MN - Glacial Pothole parking lot

Time: Set-up begins approx. 9:00 and the comp starts around 10ish

We plan on starting at 10 for 1.9 Trail, This will be a long day with a full COMP and then Finals and then the end of year awards and prizes!

Classes will be run in this order. In order to keep things moving, when each class starts, set your rigs at the starting gate in a line, so we know who will be running 2nd, 3rd, etc.

NOTE: We start with 1.9 trail. !!NEW!! for 2017, we have the beginners/newbie class. If you're new to competition and just want to see what it's like. You will run the 1.9 course with whatever rig you bring.

Here is the starting order for each class. #1 runs first on course 1. #2 runs first on course 2. #3 listed in case someone can't make it.

1.9 Trail
1. Derek
2. Adam
3. Dana

2.2 Trail
1. Nick
2. Adam
3. Aric

2.2 Pro
1. Adam
2. Barry
3. Kevin

2.2 Sporty
1. Adam
2. Barry
3. Kevin

As always, helping with course setup or cleanup is appreciated.

The results from last week can be found here

Detailed local rules for the rigs can be found here

No rig will be turned away. The number 1 goal is to have fun. If possible we'll help you get your class into "the rules" but we want anyone to come out and have a good time playing with their "toys" "thumbsup"

(NOTE: a Summit or Yeti XL might struggle fitting through 16" gates, but it'd be fun to see it try)

New/Beginner Class
This class if for anyone who has never competed before or is new to RC crawling all together. You run whatever rig you bring (regardless of type or tire size) on the 1.9 courses. If you start to do well and get comfortable we encourage you to move up into the other classes.

1.9 Trail Class
Get your SCX10, TRX4, MTX, HPI, Ascender, TF2, etc ready. Any rig with a 1.9 (or smaller) scale tire is welcome. Bumpers, sliders and scale tires are required. Winches are allowed with penalty

2.2 Trail Class
That's right, got a 2.2 wraith, deadbolt, or scx10? We have a class for you!!!! "thumbsup" Bumper is required. Winches are allowed with penalty. Rear steer and Dig are allowed with one time penalty.

Make sure you have some scale tires. Don't be using cheater tires...

2.2 Pro
And, as always, we will have the 2.2pro class. Anyone not familiar with the rules of this class or the rules in general can check out this link HERE.
Pro rigs include any MOA on a comp chassis with comp tires.

2.2 Sporty
Making a return for 2017 is the sporty class. These will be run on the same courses as 2.2 Pro with the USRCCA rules.

SCORING
Because as we have been doing in the past, and it has been working out very well, we will share the judging duty's.

1st--- you will time and call out penalty's for the person before you. This will give you an opportunity to see the course before you run.
2nd--- you run the course.
3rd--- you will score for the person behind you. I would encourage anyone not comfortable with the rules to ask for help! I would also like to see everyone take the judges test HERE.

Fees- there is a club fee of $5 per comp or $30 for the series. Females and young kids run for free. Ask for Kevin (nicklepimp)

If there are some new people that haven't been to an event yet, just look for all the middle aged kids playing with toy trucks!"thumbsup"

It's pretty cool situation we are in for all 4 classes. There are several folks who are guaranteed spots in the finals competition but there are many vying for those last couple spots. Comp#8 will shake up the order with which we run finals and can easily flip flop those who are currently in with those who are currently out. And some of the drivers who have come on strong in the back half of the season could help play spoiler for those up towards the top.

In 1.9 Trail - Easton and Derek are battling for that last spot, but theoretically Josh and Mike have a chance to get in

In 2.2 Trail - Mike and Easton's performance will likely decide the last spot, but we can't rule out Josh yet, mathematically he's still in it!

In 2.2 Pro - Nick and Easton are vying for that last spot, but Aric could get in with a stellar performance

In 2.2 Sporty - The field is basically set, but the order could change depending on performance.

Good luck drivers, it's going to be an exciting Comp 8 and FINALS

Crazy to think that Easton at 9 is fighting for top 5 in all 3 of the classes he was in, against all the adults, he made every comp this year and has really put a lot of effort into it, I am sure proud of the huge improvement he made in his driving from last year, he really looks forward to every weekend hanging out with all of us and I have to say thanks to all the members for the help they have given him this year. He will definitely be gunning for us next year to take a trophy home. But as far as JR driver he does get 1st in all classes :lmao:

For sure man. Heck if he would have ran sporty all season he'd probably be in the running there too.

Great job Easton! Now keep it up at the last comp!
