Micro X Crawler combo thoughts.

It's a decent setup, but you need to keep an eye on your temps and adjust your gearing accordingly as there's not a lot of overhead when used in a 1/10 scale. One downside is that you pretty much have to run an external bec with it, so factor in at least another $20 to the cost. I ran the Micro X for quite awhile in an >8lb car with no ill effects, but it was geared very low, and I wanted to go back to 4s, so I switched to a standard sized Mamba X. It's since found its way into a <6lb car with a 2700kv motor and is still happy/paired well. I've not run the Slate motors myself, but they're roughly on par with the HH stubby motor that I'm running with the Micro X now so I think you'd be happy with it.

I run that combo in my SCX10 iii. It's not the lightest truck but the ESC and motor has been flawless. I do run an externel BEC with it. I installed it last fall, so I haven't run it in extreme heat, but I don't anticipate any problems.

I run a micro x and slate 1800kv on my Capra with an sh500v3 servo. No issues with temps on 3s
