I'm interested in building a mega truck after watching some video's on YouTube and also after checking out harley's video's but I don't have room to do tubers.
So my idea was:
Wraith axles and trans
CPE barbarian chassis
revo size Nissan body if I can find one
the only thing I can't seem to figure out is tires I want something in the tall 2.2 range but it looks like I may have to narrow down some emaxx tires.
Has anyone done a truck similar to this? and do you think it would work?

I'm starting a mega truck build too. I'm going to build a twin vertical plate chassis like the barbarian but a bit more mega truck scale. I will be offering the chassis for sale after testing. I'm using Maxx tires narrowed by EverettY.

What do you mean by mega truck?

Mega trucks are a class of dirt/mud race trucks. It is basically the revival of monster truck racing but without the heavy tires. Race Information » Mega Truck Series

Calderwood if you can get me some pics of the chassis your designing maybe I'll wait and pick one up from you. Would be nice to buy a product from a fellow Maine rc guy.

I'll be in touch, I think we can work something out. I will be offering narrow wheels for the maxx tires as well. "thumbsup"

I'm posting a mega truck article tomorrow on BigSquidRC.com. I'm about to do a build series converting a stock Axial Deadbolt into one. I was going to use a CPE Barbarian but I think I'm going to just use the stock chassis to try and do a "budget" mega truck build. The tires I'm using are going to be clodbuster tires/wheels narrowed to an inch and a half. I'll post the link when it goes up.

I guess I could power this one up and put some skinny cut n shuts on it and it would be a mega truck? It's a monster truck I built with an aluminum Hot Racing wheelie king chassis, wraith axles, scx trans and clodbuster tires. It does have 4ws too.

It does get used....

The thing is, I won't put my stuff in the mud or water.

I had thought of using an aluminum wheely king chassis but wasn't sure on the skid plate. Did you just use a scx-10 skid?

I made a cheap mega truck a while ago. Wheely king based. Super light and a blast on small 3s batteries. Pretty solid fun mud truck.

I have a Barbarian wraith based truck, and I have to say, the barbarian chassis is more a race chassis, then a scale MT / mega truck.

Sold it super cheap. Wished I kept it:

Search tedo's mud king in the wheely king forum.

It simply has a Wraith belly in there. I put the chassis the way I needed for battery fittment and stuff so I think it's actualy backwards. It doesn't hurt anything at all. The diffs are open as I don't really trust the AR60 axles to take a ton of power with these tires. But it will spin them and even turn cyclones. The clodbuster tires slide well which helps. A mega truck type tire will most likely hook on fast turns and roll the truck.

Exo my first idea was to build a monster truck like the one that you built which is very nice by the way but then I found myself watching a bunch of mega truck video's on YouTube and I decided I needed a small one. Keep up the picks though guys I like seeing what other people have come up with to help me figure mine out.
