i have a losi night crawler i just bought about a month ago and i wanna convert it to a scale crawler. i saw a guy do it with a scx10 frame but iwas wondering if any 1 nows about any thing specific frames for it or easy to convert it!?!?!

It's not a direct bolt on affair. You will need to do some work to make everything fit. CDW is Crawler Design Works... they used to produce losi hop ups, one of which was a set of CF rails that allowed you to lop off the top half of the stock chassis. This is my comp truck with the CDW rails installed.
scaled.php

If I was going to build a scaler out of my spares, I'd probably do it the way captain safety did his. His skid was tucked up a lot nicer than mine was.

im doing same thing. just ordered axial scx10 frame kit and axial aluminum upgrade link set. let me know how it goes and i will send pics of mine as well. once i figure out how to post pics. not the best with computers.

Ive done the same thing, If anyone has any problems they wil be answered here.

You need for this project:
- Scx10 chassis kit not just the rails.
- Erevo Large rod ends (8 of them)
- A threaded rod( from a hardware store make sure it fits the revo rod end)
- Traxxas drive shafts

Optional:
- a body
- The axial tranny plate

Steps:
- put the chassis together
- Take off the old chassis from the night crawler along with the bottem links.
- Leave on the axial: shocks upper links
- Take off the drive shafts ( if the scew is stuck get a big clipper and clip off the metal cylinder with the grub screws(i think there called yokes?))
- Put together your traxxas drive shaft.
- use a Knife to scrape out the inside of the yoke so it fits on the night crawlers axials.
- super glue and tighten it down on all sides.
- Takes the stock upper losi links and attach them to the frame.
- use the revo large rod ends and the treaded rods.
- cut the rods to the right size and screw on the rod ends.
- put it on the chassis
- now it should be done.
- your shock will rub the chassis.
- take them off from the bottom and screw them in outside if the loops that you took it out. ( i hope i didnt lose you :P)
- Oh forgot the tranny, Attach it by one screw at the bottem and have it screw into the gear cover were the drive shafts are. DO NOT do it any other way or your drive shafts wont fit. Now use some glue or double stick tape or zip ties to make it sturdy. (or use the axail tranny)

I Really hope i help someone b/c it was a stress ful project for me but it was very rewarding! :)

My question is: Will it be comp legal as a scaler after this mod?
Seems to me like it's still pretty much a TVP design with some addons...
