Land Rover - Questions

I am looking in to buying a land rover rock crawler 1/10 if possible?
I can't seem to find any on the internet brand new but see them on YouTube are they custom made?

Something like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiCOxlnUfuQ

Would I be better off buying this? - RC4WD Gelande II Truck Kit with Defender D90 Body Set Z-K0001

Thanks.

Depends on your level of experience. If you want that body, it can be had separately from the chassis and you can build up your own chassis from parts, or buy an Axial kit and alter the wheelbase. The GII from RC4WD isn't a bad place to start, really.

It even says in the video description, that it's an RC4WD Gelände II D90 ;-)... so you can either use their whole kit, or just the body: Land Rover Defender D90 Hard Plastic Body Kit on a different chassis, if you prefer.

Another alternative is RCMODELex.

But be aware that while these hard plastic bodies look awesome and are almost a must for a nice realistic scaler, they make the whole rig a little top-heavy, so due to the high center of gravity, the pure rock crawling performance is reduced compared to a simpler lexan body.
