King Kong '80s monster truck (short vid added)

Here's something that I've been working on a vintage 80's monster truck KING KONG.
It has a BLADE SMC 4.5 EX chassis a vintage 1/25 amt BIGFOOT body and a rollbar made from Styrene and wheels and tires from a 1/24 monster truck model.
The other truck is a static BIGFOOT that I'm also still working on.

Yes it was the gray one.
This is what it looks like now. I'm still working on it.

I'm planning on it, I just cant deside on how I want to do it.

It's starting to look like the real one, Just need a few more details and the body will be done.

I'm running the stock motor right now, I planning on getting getbent 90t. I'm on his waiting list. ;-)

I'm using some plastic screws that I cut down to size and drilled a hole down the middle.

Hey I am just wondering, what is the point of putting aluminum over the driveshaft? I have seen so many people do it, but never understood why.

It's for lengthening the driveshaft you'll have to do the same for the links if you want a longer wheelbase.
