KCRC - Kansas City Remote Crawlers -

I'm about sick of mounting tires and cleaning this truck right. Looks like I also bent the shit out of these RC4WD XVD's. I did beat the hell out of it at Jeff's though so I am not really surprised. We'll see if I can stretch them a little longer until I can get a couple pairs of Super 300's.

That is all. Back to tires.

I have only mounted two sets of headlocks and all i have to say is, it sucks. I got smart and started using a 2.5mm bit in my drill to get them to the point right before they get tight and then go back and hand tighten then with a 2.5 screw driver.

All I have heard about CVDs is that there crap and always break, not really sure if I should buy some for my axail axles now. I also found out that my bully axles have RC4WD CVDs which was surprise for me, they seem to be holding up so far with the HH motors on 2s atleast. Also finally bought some Hyperion 3s 850mah lipos.

Not all CVD's are junk, just cheap ones. A well built CVD made with good material is pretty amazing. The Super 300's are usually around $150 a pair but they are pretty incredible as far as strength and performance goes.

Thought I'd ask here first. I have a set of sniper wheels for my MRC and need to get some wheel weights. I can get them on line I know, but thought I'd see if anyone here has a set of weights they wanna sell? Unload your stuff to me before I give money to someone else.....

Hey Pup, theres nothing special about weights for those wheels. I just use the plain old stick on lead weights you can either get from the local tire shop or from the airplane section at Hobby Haven.

No they dont. OK, I'll figure something out. I want to add weight to the front end, So maybe I'll do like Riv said and put lead stick inside the rim from behind if possible. I thought they were pretty shallow holes.lol

Got a new chassis for the sportsman... Now I'm thinking about setting it as a sportsman and a 2.2 with dig

What's the best way to get more steering with axial axles?

What about beef tubes, xr10 CVDs and vanquish zero acker steering?

So another guy on here that did it with axial axles and he was able to get 62 degrees of steering and he was using a Frogger chassis
I for one cant tell you how the steering mods youre talking about work but the chassis youre using shouldnt have any effect on the steering.

Sorry thought that came out a little confusing... The guy had a Frogger 2.0 chassis, but was using beef tubes, xr10 CVDs and vanquish zero acker steering knuckles on axial axles to get that much steering throw.

I'd be skeptical of the 62 degree claim. Modification can be done to the XR universals but they start to act badly beyond 45 degrees. The are NOT a CVD, they are a universal. They have different limitations.

I like the longer tubes with axial universals because you can get less scrub steer. You need to pay attention to what wheels you use though because you'll end up very wide if you don't get a smaller offset.

Believe i've read thru that guys build too....you will also have to modify the shock location and lower links for it to all clear.

...for the money I use the axial cvd's with some home brew piano wire pins, drilled the holes out as much as I could get away with. The stock pins suck, you will bend them quick like.

I'm using cvds, and get about 35 degree steering. With the battery tray on the axle, any more steering would get the tires into the shocks and steering servo. The longer beef tube setup would be nice, just not ready to drop that kind of $$$.

Anybody know if Hobbytown USA north is open on Sundays? The website link I found isn't working and the phone number I found is a straight up answering machine with no info
