JK's MRC FJ Turned CC01 - Tas Australia.

Hey guys,

Thought I would share my scale build.

I had a few preferences when looking for a scale build to do.
1. Must be a hard body
2. Must be something different

I started off by purchasing a Scx10 roller from a Facebook sale, once I had the base to work off I started hunting for a body.

After searching around I stumbled upon a new Style FJ hardbody and bought it.

When I received the body I found that the wheelbase needed to be shortened.

From lots or research looking into shortening the wheelbase and track width, I started looking into using losi axles to get the correct track width.

I abandoned that idea built the Scx up and sold it to a mate to purchase a Losi MRC roller.

1.55 mud thrashers and steel rims

I swapped these out for a set of 1.55 Mickey Thompson MTZ

I have plans to later add an interior so for now just whipped up a quick mounting plate.

Mounted the electrics and this is how it sits right now.

My first run in the lounge room, suspension is way too soft massive body roll when turning corners.
Also steering was getting stuck at full lock.

Still got a fair bit of work todo before she has her first proper run.

This is how I test mounted the electrics ( still messy ATM )

And some scale bits

And some others to add

Let me know what you think ?
Keen to hear any suggestions.

Thanks.

hey mate, nice build. keen to see where it goes. the MRC truck you got now for the build i custom built for a mate to suit a bronco body. will be checking up on the progress.

Hey Mate, really?
yeh I bought it off him a while back turned out to be just what I needed and he's helped me out with other bits too.

I havent had alot of time to dedicate to this project atm. First things I need to look at is the steering and the body roll. a guy from TCP said I should try SCX10 shocks so I might do that.

Took the FJ with me to the Tas Radio Rock Crawlers comp yesterday.

used one of the scale courses as a testing ground to start tuning.

on the list I have to finish tuning
- add in bump stops of some sort to limit up travel.
- adjust the steering so it doesn't get stuck ( dude to servo horn / link being slightly to long )
- mount electrics fully ( atm using zip ties for a mock up )
- wire up the winch and lights.
- mount the rest of my scale gear.
- buy a 3channel rx/tx
- find a suitable bullbar

then I can start driving it.

here is a few test pics

after driving it for the first time yesterday I have found motivation to get her finished.

So plugged in a battery on the FJ today and the motor smoked !!!

Safe to say its stuffed !!! Thinking ill ditch the Novak Brushless ESC setup and get something else.

Just have to find a good combo with a 380 size motor.

Re: JK's MRC FJ Turned CC01 - Tas Australia.

Been quiet for a bit lost interest in the FJ for a while.

But she's now back on the trail

FJMKII

First things first I ditched the MRC and went for a CC01 chassis with a 50T motor

On the todo list, lock the front diff unsure which method to use.

Steering upgrade.
