Is it bought or built?

So last night I got my links built and installed, huge shout out to Mazz! I had a shipping issue, my post office returned them and he got my links shipped back when he should have been taking time off for the end of the year.
Anyways, my SCXTwentyFour now has no stock parts on it and that begs the question, is it bought because it started out as an rtr or is it built because it is all aftermarket parts?

Yeah this is a humble brag, I’m super stoked to have all the sweet fancy aftermarket parts to look cool.

I hope you all had a great New Years!

Built ... you have probably taken it apart more than enough times that you understand where everything goes and how it all works ... that would be built rather than just driving it straight from the box

It has been apart a few times, lol. Pretty much completely last night, only a few pieces keeping the chassis rails together. The motor and electronics have been through a few configurations and now the links too. It’s been fun.

So if I take all my rtr parts and rebuild them is it built or bought? lol

As long as you understand what you are building and how it all comes together I would say built ... obviously adding your own touch by putting other parts that are not necessarily meant for the platform but you make it work... I don't think it matter whether you use stock parts, one of parts, 3d printed or handmade. But you know what they say about opinions. :ROFLMAO: :D🍻

Yep... agree. Built for sure. And I don't necessarily think that you have to replace ALL parts to consider something built. I've bought plenty of things not just RC, and when I get to the point that I've taken something completely apart, replaced things, modified things, and/ or fabricated some parts... when it all goes back together, I pretty much consider it built. If I know it inside and out then it's just as if I built it so, yeah.

The whole "scratch built" thing obviously doesn't apply here.
