I wanna be Dave
Courtesy of the good folks at RC4WD, and the brilliant minds of a n00b and a guy, I’m proud to announce a special giveaway for the entrants of ALL 3 RC4WD Scale Challenges. Guy and I will be building up two brand new RC4WD Short Wheelbase TF2’s with all the goodies, creating a custom lid for them, competing in Class 1, and then giving them away at the awards banquet at the East Coast Scale Challenge! If you compete in any of the three events this year, in any class (Except for TTC), you’re automatically entered to win one of these custom, one-off creations. No strings attached, a fully RTR rig, babied through the gates could be yours, just for being a part of this awesome community. It’s our way of giving back, and thanking each participant for the commitment to this hobby, RC4WD, and their love of toy trucks.
So follow along, this truck could be yours!
Rules:
These toy trucks are custom built bodies with all the scale options you would ever need. They are built on the RC4WD TF2 SWB (Short Wheel Base) Chassis.
THESE RIGS WILL BE RUN AT THE CANADA AND EAST COAST SCALE CHALLENGE EVENTS THIS YEAR!!!
How do I win one of these awesome rigs?
You can only win once.
Winner will be the name on the ticket registration only.
Winners will be chosen by Random Integer Generator on video. Winners will be contacted.
If you are at ECSC and win, you will take it home.
Here we go. I have chosen a non-Toyota with a Toyota name in which to start this build.
Toyota Blizzard LD20. In all actuality, it's just a rebadged Daihatsu Rugger.
The base for this truck will be the leaf sprung RC4WD TF2 SWB kit. Perfect wheelbase to match a 1/9th build and adds a ton of scale points for Class 1.
Nice compact box.
Started the build by throwing in some RC4WD helical cut gears into the Yota 2 axles.
Mid-build.
RC4WD Twister servo. For twisting.
Rolling chassis!
1.55 Country Fun Dicks.
And the result of reading the instructions upside down. Upside truck.
35t RC4WD Boost motor.
Now to the body. Cut the shape of a truck out.
Then I glued more pieces to it. Sorry, I thought I took more pictures than that.
Done and ready for the comp!
