How do you actually remove chubs

Noob question:

I have the tires off, and the four small screws are removed - but when I pull on the chub, it doesn't budge.

How exactly are these removed?
Do I have to remove the steering knuckle as well?
Looking at them closely they appear to be splined. I would assume I just have to pull them out parallel with the axle. Am I correct?

That's correct, the four screws should release the C hub. Maybe you have some debris in there. Can you remove the bearing?

I was actually able to remove and clock them. It just required a little prying. I was not able to remove them by hand initially.
