Hobbywing AXE not changing behaviour after setting changes

Finally got my AXE 550 V1.1 installed in my truck and tried to set it up. Steps taken:

1. Wired in
2. Bluetooth linked
3. Firmware updated
4. Motor pairing completed
5. Calibration completed

So, everything seems to be working as expected. I have an Element Enduro so first thing I need to do is switch the motor from CCW to CW in the hobbywing app. I do this and the app seems happy. I save the setings and all seems good. I recall the settings for good measure, looks great.

Here's the issue though, the motor continues to spin CCW. In fact, no mater what setting I change in the app the actual behaviour of the ESC remains unchanged (though it acknowledges and stores the requested setting change).

So, it looks like it is working fine but the behaviour of the ESC never changes from default.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm losing my rag with it frankly.

Cheers

Bit more info.

I can get the ESC to update its behaviour if I 'save' the parameter change in the Hobbywing app and then turn the ESC off and on again. After that the updated parameter will take effect.

That can't be right though can it? Do I really have to 'save' and restart the ESC after every change I want to make? I thought the App was intended to allow for 'on the fly' adjustment of the ESC parameters?

That sounds correct. Turning the ESC off saves and is reset when now turned on. I’m not a blue tooth fanatic though.

Hang up and Drive

Same on the caslte b link. Have to cycle the ecs to update the settings.

Sounds like I may have been expecting too much out of the blutooth function!

Okay, makes sense, basically the app on your phone can update the desired settings of the ESC but the ESC won't 'pick up' those changes until it is power cycled.

I guess all it's really doing then is replacing the programing card. Seems a shame to have missed he ability to do fully 'on the fly' adjustments when out and about though. I mean, the remote app is all good, but if you still need to reach into the truck to power cycle the thing it somewhat takes the shine off.

Anyway, enough gripong about my first world problems, I should finish setup and take it out for a play (and enjoy the FOC wizardry).
