Hobbywing Axe FOC 3300kv

So I got the Hobbywing Axe FOC system just to try something different. I put it in my Ryft along with a 13t pinion gear. After reading all about the FOC system, I was expecting incredible low speed control, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Its very difficult to start and maintain a slow speed. With the slightest throttle input, it wants to lurch and start going a bit too fast for crawling. I setup the throttle end points according to the instructions, and also changed the punch control to 1 using the bluetooth settings.

I'm using the stock Ryft controller (DX3) and reciever.

Am I doing something wrong? Is the controller to blame, since it doesn't support throttle curves?

Yeah I think I pulled the trigger on the HW system before doing enough research. Ugh. I think I might go with the tried and true Mamba X and possibly a ROC412 HD 2300kv. What do you guys think?

I also am wondering if someone will be coming out with a larger spur gear for the RBX10 sometime soon. That'd give us a bit more gear reduction.

I've got a Mamba X and ROC412 3100 on my Bomber and love it!!! I tried the Fusion FOV on my GateKeeper and absolutely hated how slow it was. I have the Mamba X and Slate motor coming on Friday. I'll see how the slate does against the Tekin ROC.

I have a Mamba X and ROC412HD (Can't remember which KV it is) in my GOM and its great. Hopefully it'll be equally great in the Ryft. The FOC is just terrible in my Ryft right now. I tore it back apart last night and did the motor relearn process or whatever, and it made no difference. I think one of the biggest issue is the FOC/AXE system doesn't have any sort of throttle curve, which I am used to in my Mamba X system on the GOM.

I ordered a Mamba X and ROC412HD 2300KV. I couldn't decide between the 2300kv vs the 3100kv, but I liked the fact that I could run a 4s on the 2300kv. Not that I need the speed, I just happen to have a 4s 5000mah, and it fits the Ryft, lol.

Anyways, if anyone wants a practically new Axe FOC system, hit me up.
