hey guys this is my first lipo and my first charger, Uve just bought a new charger and battery. Ive been watching squrriel rc lipo unervisity and i quite dont get the thing about chargers and what they have to do with peak, if im going to be using a turnigy 25-45c discharge 3000mah 4s lipo and a 3200mah 4s lipo what safety or settings do i have to put into on my charger?

Pretty basic actually:

-Battery chemistry (LiPO)
-Qty of cells (4S or "4 cells")
-Charge type (charge or balance charge)
-Charge rate (AKA "C" rate.....I usually use "1C", thus a 850mah pack is charged @ .9amps, a 2300mah pack charges @ 2.3amps)
-Hook it up and let her rip.

If you balance charge and the cells are a bit out, you "may" hit a safety timer @ 120 minutes (AKA, 2 hours). If so, start the charge again.

When it's done, look at the total mah put back into the pack (it may even be a bit more than the label states......it's possible to put 3300mah into a 3200mah pack).

The charger will figure out the rest.8)

They only can explode or go up in flames when they are abused by either over discharging, drawing way to many amps, over charging or charging with way to many amps. But all these can be avoided with a lipo cutoff, watching your charger settings, and picking the right battery for your application.
