Good evening,

Was absolutely bashing my gen8 v2 at the park the other day (slamming it into drive then reverse doing wheelies and endos on a 3s battery) and my truck started to act funny. It’ll drive on flat ground but any tension on the wheels and it does nothing.

Do you think this could be the slipper clutch?

I am going to be tearing into it tonight after I’m done grilling was just wondering if anyone had input or similar scenario.

Thank you!

Spur gear is probably toast

Results are in! Spur gear is 100% and in suspiciously good shape! It was the slipper clutch. I’m new to this hobby. But it did not look happy. Before under tension is would just sit there. I removed all slipped clutch material (to me it feels like light sand paper) and took out the spacers and put the metal discs straight in and boom! She’s operational!

I want to thank you for your input and I do appreciate it!

...or the screw putting tension on the spring for the clutch backed out.

I should have tightened this, reassembled and checked but I didn’t. I deleted the slipper and am straight steel now. I will not abuse the truck (I’ve got a basher for that). I will continue to crawl.

Thank you for participating in the conversation, your idea probably would have worked but the slipper clutch material (light sticky sided sand paper to me) was damaged a good bit and didn’t look happy or how I imaged stock!

This trans will do until I swap to a 2 speed!

Thank you again!

Off to fix my trx4 servo!
