Hello RCCrawler community!

I did not see an introduction section (flame me if I missed it) so I picked the newbie section to just say hello!!

I have a Losi Trail Trekker which is a fun little thing and got me interested in more serious crawlers. The size is rather limiting and as with all r/c's... bigger is more fun! In my opinion anyways.

I just purchased an Axial XR10 from a guy in the next province (Canada) and it's being shipped to me now. I'm pretty anxious to get it! I went through the XR10 pics thread... man, a lot of sweet rigs in there!

I think I managed to get a sweet deal on mine. He put a lot of work into it, didn't drive it too much, and then it sat on a shelf for a couple years. If any experts would like to chime in, what sort of maintenance should I perform before putting it in action? I was thinking maybe I should pull the axles and motors and service them. It has the original XR10 axles and Holmes Hobbies brushed motors.

I did not have the benefit of building the kit myself, but I'm used to buying RTR rigs and tearing them apart for service/repair. I got back into r/c about 5 years ago after a long hiatus.

Current r/c's:
Losi Trail Trekker
Traxxas Rustler (Castle brushless)
HPI Baja 5sc
Blade Nano QX

Previously owned:
Revo 3.3 (don't like nitro much)
Redcat Rampage XT (first gen, had issues, parts support was weak)
Redcat Rampage MT (wouldn't stop breaking)
1/16th Summit (fun but weak diffs)
Savage XL Octane (motor is a fail)
Various toy grade r/c's in my youth

I'm happy to join such a big community! I'll be taking pics of my new rig when it comes out of the box and will post in the XR10 pics thread! I'll also have a couple questions about it I'm sure, like identifying the chassis, I'd just like to know what it is.

Greetings from Canada!

IVIayheIVI.

when ever I buy a used rig I always tear it down and go over it piece by piece, you never know what the previous owner did. better safe than sorry
