I'm doing a mojave build for my scx10 and had to find a way to get rid of my shock hoops so that the drop bed would sit properly I did it a very unconventional way and was wondering if anyone else had done it this way.

I'm on my phone and it won't let me load pics will have them up shortly.

And doing it this way kept my ride hight almost the same as before I relocated I just took the short springs off and ran it as a droop.

Do your springs get all wonky when they drop all the way?

What's the flex like compared to stock?

Well the articulation is much better actually and the springs haven't caused any problems yet but if they do I will just take them off I just left them on for looks. I've seen people relocate different ways but this was just fast easy and free with no actual permanent modding.

There have t been any problems with the springs being on there yet. And the articulation is much better I was really impressed. The best part about doing it that way is that it takes no actual modding and only takes a couple mins to do.

Thanks for the idea! Been looking for good ways to do the rear shocks on the cheap for a possible future drop bed.

because there is zero up travel, that's why. also, droop setups can tend to unload on you at inopportune times. good for drop bed though.

Here's what I did.

Agreed, guy running portals (forget his userid) is running some shorter shocks for a Losi Mini LST (MLST) in the OP's setup and it seems to work great. "thumbsup"

Holy crap JIA, that is nice!

U are right about the up travel but when relocating even if you by the kits don't u lose up travel unless you get much shorter shocks and if you lose the shock length won't that make you lose overall articulation because of the travel? And a droop setup in just the rear would be more stable in angled climbs wouldn't it because with no/very little up travel in the rear and the front shocks in this instants being stock would force the body to stay level or close to it which would help keep it from flipping. I'm fairly new to Rc crawling but I crawl with 1/1's all the time and I have always thought regardless of the wheel and axle angles the point is to keep the body parallel to the ground at all cost because that's where you get roll overs. I'm not a pro crawler or anything but I just figured. Any advise on if that would be true on scale rigs as well?

With a full droop suspension you wheelbase is usually at it's longest when at rest. As the axle articulates and droops from under the rig the wheelbase will change as the axle swings down and forward.

With too much droop you'll find yourself in a situation where throttle input will then try to drive the axle forward at that corner instead of driving the rig forward as a whole.

Then you'll flop over.

Same crap that would happen back when everyone was running tons of articulation.

I see what you mean I may try a relocation kit and see what kind of comparison I can get between the too to see if the difference is worth it. Ty for the reply that is true because between a scale and 1/1 you will never get as much articulation from a 1/1 unless you put like a million dollars into it lol just doing a 4 link costed me 2500.

That's an OLD build. Never got around to putting shocks on. Heck, never ran it.

Never finished building it, for that matter.
