JUST DO IT !!! "thumbsup"

I finally took the time to print out some templates for a front axle mount steering servo (thanks guys) !!

Took some time in my shop cutting it out of .064 sheet alum., I chose the mount that mounts the servo right in the center of the axle.

WOW !!!! I did not know what I was missing out on !! No more 1000 point turns, this thing turns my big 6"+ tires on any surface now. And I don't even have a power house servo, I am running the Traxxas 2075 water proof one. I think it puts out 125 oz. of power. Such a HUGE difference !! I was resisting moving it to the front axle and I am a believer now. It also helped fight the front axle lift and torque twist, climbs slightly better now. :)

If any of you haven't moved your servo yet, JUST DO IT !!! You will enjoy driving you rig ALOT MORE !! Even if you dont have the time to fab one, throw down the $15 or so that they cost and get one....Well worth it.

Thanks again guys for the free templates...worked Great !! "thumbsup"

SOA makes turning sooo much better. THe stock linkage on my WK would just bend and not turn one way, lol. I bought a mount and am glad I did. Works awesome!

Several of the vendors at the bottom of the main bulletin board have them listed on their websites. There are several styles to chose from. I think RCguy.com has them for like 15 "doll hairs" or something....?

Just finished my install yesterday... bye bye crappy servo saver....

Lets hope that I don't break the trx servo next time I hit the rocks...

OptimusV6: I have mine set up very similiar...I layed it on top of the center of the axle (Parallel to the axle). I am using the same Traxxas 2075 with a similiar arm to connect the drag link and within about four outings I had stipped all the plastic gears in the 2075. Good thing I had the $3 repair gear set for it to get me back on the road until my heavy duty servo saver comes in the mail. Just a heads up, maybe be I was being a little ruff, but I would think that you are probably going to strip yours out if you dont put some form of saver on it. I ordered 2 or 3 to try out on it. I will update once they come in the mail and I have had some time to beat on them.

Thanks for the heads up! I also have a Kimbrough servo saver, but I need to mod it a little bit so I can connect the tie rod to the servo horn. I tried a traxxas servo, but found that the servo horn is to short and limits the turning radio.

I think I have extra gears for the servo... anyway I also ordered some TowerPro MG996 servos, but have not received them yet.

At least I will be able to use the WK in the weekend...

Ya, you should be fine if you take it easy. I stripped mine desending a large steep rock and I hit the bottom a little sideways with 6" tall tires, it was just too much. It broke one or two teeth off, so I decided to run it untill there where no teeth....that took all of 2.5 minutes....LOL ! :)

Servo Saver

Servo savers are definitely a must for all types of driving styles for sure. $4 on a saver beats the hell outta buying a new servo or gears.

Heres my $4 LHS saver on an $80 servo. Works great.
