All done and ready for the weekend, hopefully the weather holds.

Nothing fancy on this one yet.

1080 esc
CrawlMaster Sport 16t (really crap drag brake)
Hyrax predators with dual stage foams
Craptastic spektrum servo for the dig (until I can find a reefs 99)
Traxxas GTS shocks with 20wt (stocks are way too stiff)

The motor doesn’t have a crappy drag brake, it’s the gearing in the transmission. Drop down to an 11t pinion gear and you will be much happier.

Yeah? I was already planning on doing that, I’m glad to know it’ll help the drag brake as well. Thanks.

Your rig looks great man! The HW1080 has a decent drag brake, but not amazing. As suggested a 11 tooth pinion will help not only with the drag brake but with low speed control as well. Yes, the kit shock setup needs a little tuning. I don’t like light shock oil at all. Shocks always feel too springy. I’m running the kit shocks, pen spring mod (made links level), kit springs, preload collar just touching springs, and 50wt oil front and rear and I’m totally happy with them. Thicker oil will slow the shock action down a bit. Since you replaced the shock I’d try a similar setup with the stock shocks if you still have them. I don’t remember if the kit shock pistons had options in the box, but if they did I always start with the middle option and haven’t changed them in my Capra. Again, rig looks great. Nice job!

I appreciate all of the input! So I’ve actually already changed the shocks to Desert Lizards with soft springs and a bit of droop. I also put in a 11t pinion. It feels much better and sits lower. I think it’s about as ready as I’m going to get it, now I just need to drive it.
