After owning an rx8 for a couple years then getting a track star 150 I'll never own another rx8 unless it's exceptionally cheap. :lol:

I hope that's not true because my point here is to help rcc peeps, especially n00bs, in choosing a good esc platform for their rigs, and I'd hate to think that maybe folks here might not want to be helpful. :(

I chose the HobbyKing X-Car 120A ESC. It is the absolute most underrated ESC in the hobby.

HobbyWing would be my second choice. This is the most underrated brand in the industry. It's a world class, top tier brand.

It baffles my mind that Castle is leading the poll. I often think these people have never tried anything other than Castle.

Tekin RSX here. I have a RX8 but who needs over 3S in a crawler? Small, reliable, full-featured... only downside (if it has one) would be the cost. Love it matched to the Tekin ROC412 500kv in my Wraith. "thumbsup"
 
Tekin RSX and ROC412 1800kv = smooooth šŸ˜€

A little on the pricey side but I run Tekin in my 1/8 scale Tekno buggy (RX8 Gen 2) and I've had zero issues and top performance from it.

IMO spending the extra dollars on a good quality ESC/motor combo leaves you with a lot less head aches and top performance.
 
Holmes BLE (not BRE). Crank the switching frequency up and the motor is dead silent. Easy to add a MMP fan for use in heavy/demanding applications.

Assuming you're using this for brushless, have you ever tried it on brushed? Tell us more about your setup and experience with this bad boy.
