External bec on axial yeti xl

I dug my axial yeti xl out getting into rc again, haven’t used it in while, forgot how bad the steering is… I want to put a bec in, but it has two batteries and just wondering is it best to wire to both batteries (positive to battery 1 and negative to battery 2) or just splice both bec wires to one battery. Thanks.

it would depend on how much voltage your bec can take

if i remeber that esc has a 8 amp bec built in

if it were me and i actually drove my yeti xl and dident just look at it expecting it to break any second lol
i would install a direct power servo and run it off of 1 battery

Sorry I think I ment to say I want to install an external bec.

The stock esc bec everywhere ive seen is rated for 5.5volts which is not much, and I want the option to be able to run on 3s, so I don’t want to do direct power.

I’m gonna install a cc bec, but idk if I should…
(1) wire the negative wire of the bec to negative on 1 battery, and the positive wire of the bec to positive on the other battery.

or (2) just wire both bec wires to one battery.

Might be a dumb question but not sure if wiring to one battery will drain that battery quicker than the other, it’s all the same circuit I think but I’m no electrician.

direct power servos are good on 3s some are even good up to 4s ive seen them rated up to 20v

those are just some cheap ones but almost every brand has one these days and the torque is insane
