So I am wrapping up my Rock Rey project. Did a bunch of upgrades and also swapped the radio to a Spektrum DX5c with a SR315 receiver. This radio is new to me and I am trying to learn all the various settings. I got the receiver to bind and have normal steering and forward throttle and brake. I don't seem to have reverse though. I am sure its a setting I am unaware of. I re-read the manual, googled my brains out, and tried many changes. No luck yet. I am sure it is me, please help!!!

Thanks!

I meant to ad that. It is the stock Dynamite 130amp esc & stock brushless motor. I took the truck out for a spin and realized it only has drag break, so I am definitely thinking the reverse trigger setting is wrong or it didn't bind properly? The old bind receivers with the plug required the user to move the trigger and steering, but if I understand the instructions properly the newer dsmr ones with the bind button dont require all that??? I think. LOL. Maybe that is my issue but every time I re-bind it doesn't allow time for all that.

Anyone running this specific radio?

And don't forget to calibrate the transmitter after you bind it. Make sure the car is on a stand or it'll go flying away!

Check your throttle trim, same thing happened to me

I acquired a used DX5c recently, the reverse was set to one of the trim buttons.....I never figured it out and shelved it.

I would suggest recalibrate the ESC. And for the regular spektrum receivers (without ASV) you shouldn't have to calibrate the trigger and steering wheel during the bind process. I believe you should just have to put the receiver in bind mode, then select bind on the transmitter. Once the light goes solid orange turn off the receiver.

If all fails you could also try resetting the transmitter to default settings then try the process all over again. Bind the receiver, then calibrate the ESC.

You probably accidentally reprogrammed the first menu item on your esc.

ESC Programming Procedure
Programming can be accomplished using the SET button on the on/off
switch or Digital Program Box(DYN3748).
Programming the ESC
1. Connect a batteryto the ESC.
2. Power on the ESC using the ESC switch.
3. Hold the SET button for 1 second until the green LED blinks, then release the SET button to enter programming mode.
4. Press and release the SET button as needed to get to the desired menu option (the Green LED will blink corresponding to the menu item number). Programming menu items 1 through 9 are accessible using the SET button on the ESC. Programming menu items 10 and above are only accessible using the optional ESC programming card. Programming of menu items 10 and 11 is only possible after firmware updatesto the ESC programming card.
5. When at the desired menu item, pressthe SET button for 3 seconds until the red LED blinks.
6. Pressthe SET button to move among the settings based on how many timesthe red LED blinks(Refer to the table for more information).
7. Save the setting by pressing the SET button for 3 seconds.
8. Power off the ESC switch and repeat instructions above to change other settings

You need to set the first menu item to 2

If you scroll down on the wheel it will show you what your outputs from the transmitter are.

Thank you all for the help. I have not had the chance to get back to it yet. Hopefully soon.

Once the esc is reset. What trim on the dx5c allows you to tune the drag break?
