I tried to find some information about the DIG unit for the Traxxas TRX-4 but I found nothing. Of course I found information about DIG unit for Axial and Gmade but nothing about Traxxas.
Exist any DIG unit for Traxxas TRX-4? Is there anyone who has a DIG unit on their Traxxas TRX-4? Or could someone give me a link to some information here on the forum?
I'd like to buy the Traxxas TRX-4 Sport 1:10 Kit and I'd like to equip it with a DIG unit.

Hi, Ive always wanted one too. I had one in my AX10, it works great for tight turns. I found out someone makes one. they sell it on shapeways.

I think Team Garage Hack makes a trans with dig that can be installed in a TRX if memory serves. I believe John Holmes installed / reviewed one in his TRX.

Do you know if works with the lockers?

No experience with this but I dont see why I wouldn't work with the lockers. It installs on the transfer case and doesn't require that you remove anything related to the lockers.

Turning off the rear locker can make a big difference with turning but you have to be moving so it isn't really like dig but helps.

If you turn off your rear locker off and can hang tire your rear open hanging tire spins and you won't move forward much and you can almost sort of dig. If you get up against something, turn off your rear locker of you can pivot on it. You can't count on this but if you can pick the right line it helps sometimes.

I have a competition on Saturday and I was working on this last night. If the situation is right it can work.

I'm curious as well.

It seems like it's too open and debris may interfere with the operation. Is there some kind of cover not dhown?

What's been working nicely for me in terms of a dig in a TRX4 is a Capra tranny with Capra skid. It fits right between the rails and from there it's only drilling 2 holes into the frame rails, shortening of the front driveshaft and customizing the length of the links (capra links can nicely be adjusted even if already installed). If you use a 540 size motor you can even use the Capra link mount positions.

I unlock the rear diff and it acts like dig. Not quite the same. But helps a lot. I have dig on my scx10 and it is nice to have for sure.

I do the locker "dig" trick allot on my TRX4 and it works. If you can hang a tire it can really really work. Even if you can't "dig" just opening up the diffs can help allot when it comes to turning. If you are setup so you can unlock the front diff and keep the rear diff locked it can really help with side hilling.

The TRX doesn't turn as tight as other setups, being able to open a locker or two really helps.
