Diablo Crawlers GTG at Bean Hollow state beach
Sunday, April 12th. We're going to meet at the north parking lot at 9:30am. Everyone is welcome to come. Bring plenty of fluids and a lunch and plan on staying for a while. Post your name up in the Diablo Crawlers thread if you're going so we no who to expect. I can't wait to see everyone again and I also can't wait to welcome some new faces too. Our Diablo Crawlers gear is done and will also be at the gtg. You don't want to miss this one!

Check the tides that day.
They seem a little high in the morning and low point is almost 1pm.
Low point is also not that low.

Also in the past the Rangers have a problem with organized meetings out there if they are not made aware of beforehand.
Just FYI, it may have changed in the past 5 years.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to contact the Rangers. There is actually still some great crawling even at high tide.

I'd advise to not contact the Rangers. It's always easier to ask for forgiveness then to ask for permission.

The reason I stumbled across this post is because NorCalRCRC was planning a comp here this day as well. I wanted to touch base with the leaders first before posting here with you regarding turf, lol.
We plan on comping around dildo rock, the spire north of center.
As you know the Bean is really big, infact when we were doing King of the Bean there, our course was 1.9 miles long in one direction from the spire to the south end.
So we're just hoping you can work with us and give us some wide birth during our comp.
We will be there setting up courses around 8am so together we can decide how we can set up out of your way. We probably know most of each other anyway so if any of y'all have comp rigs, come and join the comp.
We're running Sportys and Pro rigs.

When I created the event, you guys hadn't set a location, otherwise I wouldn't have picked that date. Since we're not setting course, I see no problem. I just hope there's enough parking. Let's all go have fun.

Yea, our leader procrastinates.
But we do plan the Bean around the tides and that sunday is the best sunday for a long time.
It'll be a good time, the Bean always is.

I just want to let everybody know, we do not have a permit for Bean Hollow. Everyone is crawling at their own risk.

The worst they would do is ask us to leave.
The only risk is having lunch at a road side diner on the way out.

I am checking on that right now.there may be a place called Rock Quarry Park that will be about 10 to 15 minutes north of the Bean.

I really don't think we'll have to worry about it but it is always better to be prepared. Comp guys have Rockaway in Pacifica.

I'm sure there is, since the ca coastal access law exists, we should be able to get to any of the beaches/rocks along the coast. I know there's a few spots I want to check out north of the bean if we get the boot
