Creepy's Yota Flatbed

A few months ago I fell in love with an SCX10 based build that HITMAN had completed, and when it came up for sale I simply couldn't walk away.

When I originally purchased this truck it was my intention to just leave it alone and drive it for the season. Well, after a 20 minute test run to get a quick feel for performance, I set it on the shelf knowing full well that I was going to tear it down completely, build fresh axles, transmission and do a few tweaks and mods.

I did not document the transformation, however I will list all the tech as well as some bench snaps of the overhaul and a few from Sunday's initial shakedown run.

Tranny:
Stock Axial Internals
3Racing Stainless Outdrives

It will never work :flipoff: ....this rig is freakn awesome in person its so clean job well done. Maybe next time we'll get some pics of it buried in mud up to the wipers"thumbsup"

I agree, this is one clean build! One thing wrong though, needs some more rash to top it off!

That is one clean truck!

I feel like just climbing on board and driving away!

"thumbsup"

By The Way, i forgot to mention that the magnetically held tool box is genius.

Will keep the magnet idea in the back of my head. Finally a different option than velcro!

Appreciated sir, thank you very much.

Such a clean build!

I strive for clean builds every time I wrench...I hope I'm succeeding 8)

Great looking Yota! Very clean build!"thumbsup"

Thank you Shon, and that Truss is sweet, really made the build for me.

Beautiful rig"thumbsup", i am trying to figure out if that is a track bar installed upfront to help with bumpsteer?

Thank you, and that's part of the Hand Bro's CMS kit that you're seeing I believe.

CLEAN! Beautiful rig you have there.

Thanks n00b, I really appreciate the comment.

That yota is sick! Got to see it in person not only does it look good but seems to crawl even better.

Thanks Jason, I had a feeling you'd dig it ;-)

Groovy, it's already famous 8)

Very tasty! Love the bumpers and the rear shock/spare mount.

Most appreciated Ryan, I respect your skill and builds very much...I'm humbled. HITMAN did a great job with the design and execution of the chassis.

Great compliment, thank you!

That truck is alright..... I seen some scratches on the skidplate.:lmao::lmao:

Yeah dude, I'm picky and I wanted to replace it...thanks for noticing :flipoff: :ror:

I don't think that would happen, unless it was an accident! :lmao:

I think we should call it the "Teflon Toyota"! Nothing sticks to it! :ror:

Killer rig! "thumbsup"

Ah yes, you know me all too well...although it went in the drink after a roll over so she's been baptised

Thanks for all the comments guys, I sincerely apprecaite them.

My long term goal is to get a nice interioir completed, probably over the coming winter. There are some very clean builds within RCC that are inspiring me and I've started the search for components already, should be fun!

Pull Pal

One of my buddies in our group started fabbing some prototype Pull Pals. Got to test out #2 at his backyard course today. The approach was flat and undercut; perfect for a good winch out.

7+ pound rig, 40 pound break Stainless line, Stainless hook and one solid anchor...no poroblem "thumbsup"
