To start I just got back into the hobby after a 4 year break. In January I bought a Tekno EB48.4 1/8th buggy. Built it and 2 weeks later they came out with a new version. (Figures right) anyhow, I went out to Motorama in Harrisburg, PA and raced it on “The Big Track” and did extremely well. R/C addiction activated lol. So once that was done Covid hit. Well I was bored and looked back into crawling. I was watching all these vids on scx10 iii and was intrigued. Then I saw a Capra build and instant obsession. Right after Motorama was over I put my buggy up for sale bc it was now old lol. That was beginning of March. I finally now got a Capra kit. One it took forever to sell the buggy since they came out with a new version , then my lhs had ordering issues. But be it took forever I got the kit for $260 and my friend gave me all the electronics from his element for free as he upgraded. Listen , I’m 42, and have a great job , but if someone is gonna give me free stuff , I’m gonna take it. Besides I ve heard they aren’t terrible for rtr electronics. So Capra is almost built and I ll post some finished pics. Thanks for reading fellas

I also have a eb48.4 and on the fence about selling it for capra, do you miss tekno at all?

Kinda nervous going from Fast buggy to slow(compared to) crawlers..

I really enjoy mine. I've raced 1/8 Nitro, 10th Gas and electric, 1/5 HPI Baja's etc. I always tried to be the fastest but going slow is challenging and way more relaxing.

Well my build is almost complete. I have to finish the interior and get a servo extension. Man my servo wire is about 2” short ( story of my life lol). I was just gonna cut it and add a longer end , but that’s just hackish to me. This weekend I ll take her out and put her through some paces. Thanks for reading , Nick

I finally took my rig out today. Well the electronics I have are sub par. The motor and esc combo has absolutely no low speed control and way too much wheel speed. The servo isn’t all that great either but it will get there. Very fun rig though. I mean this thing just works in places I feel it shouldn’t. Once I get better electronics I feel this thing is gonna be just awesome!

Thank you it’s Duratrax Flourescent Red, I paint my all my go fast this color. This is the first time I used it on a crawler. I really like it with all the black

I just ordered an 11t pinion , so hopefully that helps slow things down a bit. I figure it’s cheaper than a new system for right now.

I m running a reedy 5 slot 16t .I have the protech 4100 hv and two hobbystar 1500 . All of which are 3s. I tried the hw axe in my buddies Capra. It’s nice , but I can’t justify the price over a good brushed system

So I got the 11t pinion in the Mail. I went to take the 14t off and snapped my mip 2.0 driver off in the set screw. I left it sit for a week , now this morning I finally stopped being lazy, ground the 14 off and installed the 11t. I ll rest it out tomorrow but I feel it’s going to be a lot better . My only concern is I bought a regular steel pinion , not a hardened one. But we shall see.

How do you feel about 11t pinion? I just bought one for myself one and also purple soft soft spring. Cant wait to install
